Multicultural Program Coordinator

General Description:
Multicultural Program Coordinator shall provide newcomers with an introduction to living in Germany. Conduct multicultural activities for personnel at Spangdahlem AB, Germany, introductory grocery store and culture classes, bi-weekly German cooking classes, and monthly cultural tours.

Specific Tasks:
Responsible for preparing all materials required for the classes/tours, to include sufficient copies of handouts and any other audiovisual materials.
You will lead a total of 12, 8-hour tours to Trier throughout the year (each with up to 40 participants) including interactive education through:
1. Purchasing Bahn tickets using a German language menu.
2. Attendees will be responsible for transportation to and from the Wittlich (or alternate) train station.
3. A historical tour of Trier to include the Porta Nigra, Hauptmarkt, Dom, Basilica.
4. Facilitating a group lunch to provide education on dining out in Germany. You are required to coordinate restaurant lunch reservations.
Provide 24, 4-hour cooking classes per year using the kitchen located within Military & Family Readiness Center (M&FRC).
1. Each class will feature 2 hours of instruction and 2 hours of preparation and cleanup (including grocery shopping).
2. Responsible for providing the ingredients for the cooking classes.
Provide 12, 2-hour grocery store tours per year to provide education on grocery shopping in the local economy.
Meet with the M&FRC Relocation Program Manager and/or the M&FRC Flight Chief monthly, up to 2 hours, for planning and coordination. Times and dates are subject to change based on mission requirements and participation.

Qualifications:
Shall have teaching experience.
Shall have an experience as an informal or formal tour guide.
Ability to read and speak both English and German fluently.
Ability to use recipes to prepare and demonstrate cooking.
