Senior Cost Model Analyst (all genders), Hamburg

Salary: 59.000 - 82.000 € per year

• We require an engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or Industrial Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline.
• We require several years of experience in cost modelling, should-costing, financial modelling, benchmark data and comparative analytics within the oil and gas, energy, manufacturing industry or an equivalent industry.
• We require strong cost modelling capability, including knowledge of benchmarking data, data providers and tools such as Power BI, Python or similar.
• We require strong analytical capability to interrogate cost drivers and assumptions across engineering and commercial dimensions.
• We require engineering and manufacturing process understanding relevant for cost drivers.
• We require fluent English; additional languages are an advantage.
• We require willingness to travel to suppliers and other office locations as requested.

• We build and maintain cost modelling capabilities such as clean-sheet and should-cost models across priority packages.
• We develop and manage a central cost fact base, including benchmarks, market indices and historical project data.
• We provide analytical support to value engineering, procurement and commercial decision-making.
• We standardize our modelling approach, templates, documentation and model governance within the function.
• We support value-engineering workshops and contract optimizations and negotiations.
• We develop detailed clean-sheet cost models for key components and priority spend categories and packages.
• We build and maintain benchmark databases and benchmark packs, ensure consistency of assumptions and sources, and include trend analysis.
• We develop scenario tools to model cost drivers and sensitivities to support decision points and negotiation preparation.
• We prepare structured cost analysis outputs and reports for stakeholders.
• We maintain documentation standards, including decision logs, tracking and a library of tools and standards.
• We organize and support value-engineering workshops with disciplines engineers and packages, commercial teams.
• We support contract optimizations and negotiations with analytical results showing technical cost levers, pricing implications and negotiation options.
